Have you calibrated your Monitor?
Hello, My name is Martin S. Ferlito and welcome to my website.
I
have been actively interested in astronomy for quite a number of years
now with my main interest being photography. I begun with my first
telescope, a 6" Newtonian Mead Starfinder on a equatorial mount and a
Nikon FE2 camera. It took a little while until I got comfortable with
polar aligning before embarking on the photography side. The main things I began photographing were the moon and the planets.
I soon realized that it wasn't enough and that I had outgrown the
equipment I owned at the time and was limiting my progress. I had
caught the "Astronomy BUG". There were many costly financial pitfalls
which I luckily avoided through patience and research. Also, the more
people I spoke to the more I learned from their mistakes and sure
enough this shone a light on my path to avoid making those same
mistakes myself. If there is a piece of advice I can give to anyone in
regards to starting their journey in either Visual or Imaging astronomy
is this. Take your time, start small, learn the basics, grow and evolve
in knowledge with what you have before upgrading, the last thing you
want is to find yourself surrounded with 20 different things which you
have less than 10% knowledge of, this is where so many people have
found their excitement turn to frustration and disappointment, and
eventually everything gets shoved in a corner to gather dust. This is
a fun and fascinating hobby to be involved in, so get the most out of
what you have and share what you know with those around you.
As
you move through my website you will see some of the things I own and
the things I have photographed/Imaged. So, I hope you enjoy what you
see because it is a blast for me to continue showing you.
Clear skies
Martin.
